The Hong Kong Federation of Insurers (HKFI), a self-regulatory body of insurers, was established on 8 August 1988 to advance and promote the development of the insurance business in Hong Kong. It has full recognition by the Government of the Hong Kong SAR as the representative body of the insurance industry.
Insurance Agents Registration Board ("IARB") was set up under the Hong Kong Federation of Insurers ("HKFI") for the registration of agents and for dealing with complaints about agents' malpractices. The Code of Practice will be updated by HKFI from time to time to keep it in line with market developments.
